STDs

Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Sexually transmitted diseases, or STDs (sometimes called sexually transmitted infections, or STIs) affect people of all ages, backgrounds, and from all walks of life. In the U.S. alone there are approximately 20 million new cases each year, about half of which occur among youth ages 15-24 years. Getting the facts about STDs/STIs and sexual health is increasingly important. For more information, go to the CDC website.

Treating You, Treating Your Partner

The CDC recommends that when you are treated for Chlamydia or Trichomoniasis, that your partner also gets treatment. Therefore, Grand Rapids Women’s Health is now offering treatment for affected patients and their partners. It is vital that your partner is educated on symptoms, treatment, and prevention of future re-infection. Please review the appropriate fact sheet below in detail, and share this information with your partner.
