Interstitial Cystitis

Interstitial cystitis (IC) is a bladder condition characterized by urinary frequency, urgency, pressure, and pain in the pelvic region. Patients may also experience frequent nighttime urination, pain with sexual intercourse, and discomfort during normal daily activities.

IC is not a rare condition; however, it is more common in women. It is not unusual for patients to have been misdiagnosed with a variety of other conditions including overactive bladder and urethritis.
