Congratulations! You're pregnant! Now what happens? Your first step will be calling our office and talking with a scheduler to set up your OB Interview appointment with the nurse and OB Physicial appointment with your physician. During your OB Interview appointment, the nurse will talk with you more extensively about your pregnancy. She will discuss topics such as prenatal vitamins and breastfeeding. She will also order prenatal blood work, which you will have drawn at a medical lab before your OB Physical. The OB Interview takes about half an hour, and is required regardless of whether or not this is your first pregnancy. Your OB Physical is your first pregnancy appointment with your physician. This appointment is scheduled based on the last date of your menstrual period, or LMP. You will see the doctor between 10-12 weeks of your pregnancy. During this appointment, you will receive a physical exam and a pap smear. Your due date will also be established. You may discuss any questions you have with your doctor at any time during your pregnancy.
