90% of every dollar raised for WAR goes to rescue trafficked women and children in the USA and abroad. Once rescued, they help the person return to their country of origin if it's safe to do so. If not, they are provided with accommodations, training and a job that helps those live lives with dignity and respect. Learn more about Women At Risk's programs here.

About the Egyptian Glass Ornaments:
"The glass blower creates beautiful works of art, fragile and one of a kind. To build relationships with women in Egypt, we have created a business partnership with ten glass factories, giving us the privilege of interacting with the factory workers' wives and daughters and allowing us to know and meet their needs. Like the ornaments, each woman is unique, beautiful and precious. When you purchase this ornament, you are reaching into the lives of these women and children, and lifting them to dignity."

WAR also sells handmade jewelry and apparel at two WAR Chest Boutique locations and hosts home and private store parties. To visit the WAR Chest Boutique store, click here.

2010

During the 2010 holiday season, GRWH was recognized as one of the top offices hosting a WAR Christmas tree - raising $2070. Over 400 offices partnered with WAR this season, helping the entire ornament program to raise $115,000. A big thank you to Nicole Bronson who oversaw the ornament program this year at GRWH.

What can $115,000 do for Women at Risk?

  • Provide 230 scholarships and sewing machines to a Southeast Asian Sewing Academy for girls to train high risk girls who are in need of a job to support themselves.
  • Purchase 5750 Christmas gifts for orphans in an overseas program.  Many who have never “owned” anything in their entire lives!
  • Donate 649 breast milk pumps and supplies to a South African Breast Milk Bank providing HIV free milk from screened donors giving infants a chance where AIDS epidemic rages.
  • Provide dignity by purchasing new sets of clothes for 821 rescued girls who run from the red light district to WAR safe houses.

2009

During the 2009 holiday season,GRWH had $7420 in sales, selling 452 ornaments - significantly more than the 100 other participating companies! Thank you especially to Kris Harmsen who provided leadership in set up, inventory control, stocking and money collection. She did a great job and her enthusiasm was contagious!
