PELVIC FLOOR REHABILITATIOMWHAT IS IT? Pelvic floor rehabilitation is essentially physcial therapy for the pelvic floor muslces. If you need pelvic floor rehabilitation, your doctor will prescribe it for you. A comprehensive plan of care is created between you and your doctor to meet your individual needs. The therapy program lasts between 6 and 8 weeks, depending on the need for therapy. It is made up of weekly office visits and can also include pelvic muscle exercises (kegels), biofeedback and/or electrical stimulation of muscles, depending on the woman's individual plan of care.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT? Pelvic floor rehabilitation is administered by our nurse practitioners and physician assistant who specialize in the pelvic floor - including urinary incontinence and prolapse. Each office visit is 30 minutes. Most patients will see positive results in three to four weeks.
